There is such a large slice of the life of a person with lived experiences missing from this article yet it is reassuring to have a "family member" psychiatrist reflect and change his practice to see the person again not just the symptoms paired with current medications.

Free 12 week Mental Health education class starts March 2, 2010

Free NAMI mental health classes begin Tuesday, March 2

Do you have a family member or friend with a serious mental illness? The local chapter of The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will begin a series of 12 weekly classes, free of charge, beginning Tuesday, March 2nd. The classes are structured to help families, friends, and caregivers better understand and support individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well-being.

Community Forum report at Board of Supervisors Today 1:30pm

Today the Mental Health Community Forum Report will be presented at the Board of Supervisors at 1:30pm as an agendized item.  After that the report should be available for review online.  I will post a link to it as soon as I see it is available.  For anyone interested, see you at the Board of Supervisor's this afternoon.
